A Regeneration Walk Audio

Regeneration… renewal… restoration… revival… revitalisation… rebirth…

Regeneration – the restoration of a biological system or of a bodily part after injury. Healing and new growth, to bring new and more vigorous life, to develop or improve something to make it more active or successful.

Along the fence line at Binbrook there is a double line of trees that had been planted many years before that create a wind break. The area is fenced off so the horses could not trample the new growth there. I love wandering down between the rows of trees… it creates a straight path for me. The sky can only be seen directly above and I am surrounded by tall trees with an abundance of new growth. Some of this new growth is coming off what appears to be dead limbs and stumps and some of it appears in the ground in its own right.

One day as I was taking this walk I was reminded of its regenerative qualities and so I decided to name it “Regeneration walk”. I painted a sign and nailed it to the fence where I enter the walk. This piano solo has a childlike quality to it and came about as a depiction of the new life that springs up in this area.

When I take this walk I am also reminded that Jesus came to offer life in all its fullness. This may not be our earthly concept of living life to the full… but it certainly involves our identity in Jesus and understanding that we have been created at this time for a purpose. The more I draw near to God the more I gain wisdom and gradually new life will appear in those areas of my life that seem dead or a new thing will spring up where I wasn’t expecting or I will have a new revelation that brings peace to my heart… God is always at work within me if I am brave enough to walk “A Regeneration Walk” with him.

About the score… find a sample of the score below. If you are a pianist who is about Grade 4-5 then I think you would be able to play this. It is not technically difficult but requires mature musicianship for the rubato and to play expressively with a depth of emotion and musicality. If you wish to obtain a full copy of the piano score then please contact Carolyn.
